In 2025, SAFE was selected as a recipient of the Mastercard Scholars Entrepreneurship Fund 2.0 — one of a carefully chosen group of ventures to receive both financial support and mentorship from the foundation. This partnership provided essential start-up capital and institutional credibility at a critical moment in our growth.
SAFE’s recognition at the 2026 CIPC Youth Awards, where co-founder Pakane Kekana placed second nationally in Women Shaping IP marks the beginning of an ongoing relationship. The CIPC continues to support SAFE with intellectual property protection and access to strategic networking opportunities.
Two of the Zebediela community’s leading secondary schools are now SAFE agricultural partners. Both institutions collaborate with us on our annual workshops, host their learners for farm experiences, and invite SAFE representatives to participate as speakers and community contributors. These are the kinds of partnerships that keep knowledge rooted in the community.
In 2025, the NYDA supported SAFE’s farm operations directly — assisting with soil preparation, weed removal, and spraying. Practical, hands-on partnership that helped make the 2025 maize harvest possible.
SAFE is proud to be a Member Organization of SDSN Youth, a global UN-led network advancing youth-led solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This partnership strengthens SAFE’s mission to equip young people with skills, connect South African youth to global opportunities and networks, and drive sustainable solutions that create lasting community impact.
